A bill to raise the minimum wage was sent to Gov. Youngkin by the Democrats

Virginia Gov. Glenn Younkin says he won't support recently passed budget that includes tax hike. Gov. Youngkin argues that the VA General Assembly's budget plan will impose a $2.6B tax hike on Virginians. He has asked for revisions to the budget.

Lawmakers must make a compromise spending plan to send to Gov. Youngkin. Democratic-controlled Virginia Senate and House of Delegates each passed state budget proposals. Republican-controlled Senate and Delegates must make compromise plan for governor. Lawmakers will meet next week to try to find a compromise.
