Sergio Perez's Red Bull car destroyed in Monaco GP crash
- Sergio Perez's Red Bull car was involved in a 'monster' crash at the Monaco Grand Prix.
- The incident occurred at the start of the race after a collision with Kevin Magnussen's Haas car.
- Despite the challenging practice session, Perez's outlook for the rest of the race weekend looks uncertain.
In a race in Monaco, Sergio Perez started 16th. Kevin Magnussen from Haas hit Perez's car after the first turn, Sainte Devote. This caused Perez to crash into the barriers. Perez's car was badly damaged, but he was not hurt because the car's structure protected him. Esteban Ocon from Alpine went airborne after a collision with another Alpine car. The race was stopped for a while after these incidents. Carlos Sainz from Ferrari also had to stop at Casino Square. Charles Leclerc from Ferrari was leading the race before the stoppage. The stewards decided not to punish anyone for the Perez-Magnussen-Hulkenberg collision because it was seen as a normal racing incident on the first lap. The race restarted after the track was cleared of debris. Sainz was allowed to resume in third place. The race continued without Perez, Magnussen, Hulkenberg, and Ocon due to the crash. Jenson Button, a former world champion, said that Perez and Magnussen should have given each other more space on the track. Perez had a tough time during the Monaco GP practice and was not optimistic about the rest of the race weekend.
