During the stop, the police smelled marijuana and found some pills in a jar. Rucker claimed he didn't know what the pills were because his girlfriend gave them to him. The warrant for his arrest was issued in December, and he turned himself in almost a year later. Rucker said the drugs belonged to his friends, and he was just helping them out. Rucker's lawyer mentioned that he was cooperating with the authorities. Rucker is known for his music, especially the album "Cracked Rear View," which is one of the best-selling albums. After being part of the band Hootie & the Blowfish, Rucker started his solo career in 2008. In a recent interview, Rucker shared more details about his arrest. He mentioned that he was stopped by the police after helping his friends move some things. He was charged with possessing drugs and violating a vehicle registration law. Rucker's lawyer stated that he was cooperating with the authorities regarding the charges. Rucker also talked about his past struggles with drugs and how he eventually quit. He emphasized that quitting was the best decision he made. Rucker is now preparing for a tour with his band, Hootie & the Blowfish, which he hinted could be their last tour together.
