Story

A retired police officer, Nicholas Tartaglione, was sentenced to four consecutive life terms in prison for murdering four people, including Martin Luna, whom he tortured and strangled over stolen drug money. Tartaglione's case gained attention due to its brutality and his brief cellmate connection with Jeffrey Epstein. The other victims were friends or family of Luna who were kidnapped and killed by Tartaglione and his associates in 2016. The bodies were found buried on Tartaglione's property in New York. Despite maintaining his innocence, Tartaglione was convicted and sentenced. Another man involved in the murders committed suicide, while Joseph Biggs received a 16-year prison sentence. Tartaglione's lawyer claimed he was a critical witness in Epstein's suicide investigation, as they had been cellmates prior to Epstein's death.
