Patna: The Bihar Police have initiated an investigation following a bomb threat directed at the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) in Patna. The alarming message was received via email on July 16 from an unidentified sender claiming to be linked to Al-Qaeda. The email warned that the CMO would be "blown up with a bomb," asserting that even the state's special police forces would be unable to thwart the attack. In response to the threat, the police, along with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), have taken immediate action. An FIR was filed at the Sachiwalaya police station on August 2, based on the report from Station House Officer Sanjeev Kumar. The case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the IT Act, specifically targeting unidentified individuals responsible for the threat. Authorities have emphasized the seriousness of the situation and are actively pursuing leads to identify the sender of the email. The police have assured the public that they are committed to ensuring the safety and security of the CMO and its premises.
