Nottingham Forest Wants to Sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal
- Nottingham Forest is actively pursuing Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal.
- Forest's bid of £25million for the striker has been rejected.
- Negotiations are ongoing between Arsenal, Forest, and Nketiah's representatives.
Nottingham Forest has identified Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah as their primary target to bolster their attacking options. The 25-year-old forward had previously reached personal terms with Marseille, but negotiations faltered over the transfer fee, allowing Forest to intensify their pursuit. The East Midlands club's initial bid of £25 million, including add-ons, was rejected, but discussions are ongoing as they engage with both Arsenal and Nketiah's representatives. Arsenal is reportedly seeking a transfer fee between £30 million and £35 million for Nketiah, who is under contract until June 2027. While Crystal Palace has shown interest in the player and has had preliminary discussions with Arsenal, their engagement is not as advanced as Forest's. In addition to Nketiah, Forest has also explored the possibility of signing Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, but Nketiah remains their top priority. The Nottingham club believes that Nketiah would seamlessly integrate into their homegrown core, which features players like Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Neco Williams. Nketiah has a notable record, scoring 38 goals in 168 appearances for Arsenal and five in 19 during a loan at Leeds United, along with one cap for the England national team. As Forest embarks on their third consecutive season in the Premier League, they kicked off their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth. Nketiah, meanwhile, was an unused substitute in Arsenal's recent 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
