Napoli wants Man United players on the move

Serie A club Napoli is keen on acquiring Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay on a loan deal, but United is only considering a permanent sale. The 27-year-old Scottish international, who has one year left on his contract with the option for an additional year, has been a significant player for United since his debut in April 2017, amassing over 250 appearances. Fulham had recently shown interest in McTominay, reportedly close to finalizing a deal. However, their acquisition of Sander Berge from Burnley for £25 million has seemingly derailed that pursuit, leaving Napoli in a favorable position to negotiate for the midfielder. Despite Napoli's interest, Manchester United remains resolute in their stance to sell rather than loan out McTominay, who had a standout season last year, netting 10 goals. In addition to McTominay, another player expected to leave Old Trafford is Facundo Pellistri. The Uruguayan winger, who joined United from Penarol for £9 million in 2020, has struggled for game time, starting only four matches. Reports indicate that any deal for Pellistri will include a sell-on clause of approximately 40 percent, reflecting United's strategy to capitalize on their investment in the young talent. As the transfer window progresses, both McTominay and Pellistri's futures remain uncertain, with United's firm position on sales likely to shape their next moves.
