- Their story highlights how unexpected circumstances can lead to meaningful relationships.
Actor Josh Hartnett recently recounted the unconventional story of how he met his wife, Tamsin Egerton, while filming what he described as “the worst movie” they’ve ever starred in, titled *The Lovers*. In an interview with Julia Stiles for Interview magazine, Hartnett humorously noted that their initial encounter was “the most Hollywood way imaginable,” as they played a married couple in the time-traveling adventure. At the time of filming, both Hartnett and Egerton were in relationships, but their chemistry quickly led them to reevaluate their situations. Hartnett explained, “We were shooting here in London and both had significant others... So I broke up with my girlfriend, she broke up with her boyfriend, and then after we stopped filming, we started to date.” Their romance blossomed after the film wrapped, leading to a long-distance relationship that began in 2012. The couple navigated their relationship with Hartnett based in New York and Egerton in London, taking vacations together and eventually embarking on a road trip where Egerton met Hartnett’s parents. Their bond deepened, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2015, followed by three more children. Currently, Hartnett is starring in M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller *Trap* and shared that his life now revolves around family, stating that “90 percent” of his time is dedicated to them, as they enjoy a peaceful life in the countryside near London.
