Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has issued an apology following the release of a video showing him inhaling nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. The 27-year-old described the incident, which he shared on social media, as a “severe lack of judgment” and acknowledged the associated health risks. Nitrous oxide is classified as a Class C drug in the UK, and its recreational use has been illegal since 2023, with potential penalties including a maximum two-year prison sentence. In his statement, Bissouma expressed regret for his actions, emphasizing his understanding of the seriousness of the situation. “I want to apologise for these videos,” he said, highlighting his commitment to his responsibilities as a professional footballer and role model.
