Brian May, the renowned guitarist of Queen, has reignited his long-standing feud with television personality Jeremy Clarkson over the contentious issue of badger culling in the UK. May has labeled Clarkson's opinions on badgers as "laughable," particularly criticizing the former Top Gear host's remarks in his Amazon Prime series, where he suggested that badgers should be "hit on the head with a hammer" to protect his cattle. Clarkson, who has openly expressed his disdain for badgers, has been a vocal advocate for culling as a means to combat bovine tuberculosis (TB). May, however, has been a staunch opponent of the badger cull, which has been in effect for over a decade. In a recent interview with the Telegraph, May suggested that Clarkson's views stem from a lack of understanding, attributing his stance to misguided advice regarding the transmission of bovine TB from badgers to cattle. As part of his efforts to shift public perception on the issue, May is set to release a BBC documentary titled "Brian May: The Badgers, the Farmers and Me." He acknowledged the skepticism he faces as a musician advocating for wildlife conservation, stating, "I now realize that to save the badgers, you have to save everybody because it's a mess." May's documentary aims to address the complexities surrounding badger culling and promote a more informed dialogue on the subject.
