Ukraine claims success in attacking Russian weapons plant and oil depot

Ukraine has launched a significant drone attack targeting a major Russian weapons manufacturing facility in Kaluga Oblast, located west of Moscow. This strike is said to have been executed by the Main Directorate of Intelligence, representing an escalation in Ukraine's offensive capabilities. The Ukrainian armed forces asserted that the plant was engaged in the development and manufacturing of military electronic systems and components crucial to Russia's military efforts, including air defense and missile parts. In addition to damaging the weapons plant, Ukraine also claimed to have successfully hit an oil refinery depot in the same area. These attacks occurred against a backdrop of ongoing reciprocal strikes, with Russia claiming they targeted military airfields and energy infrastructure within Ukraine. The military engagements have intensified as Russia continues its invasion, which has now extended beyond 1,000 days. President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that Russia has launched around 150 strike drones and missiles in a single night against various targets in Ukraine.
