Woman discovers pearl in oyster and claims it's a message from the universe

Upon biting into the oyster, Freda initially thought she had lost a tooth, only to be informed by her daughter that it was actually a pearl. The rarity of such an event is underscored by statistics, indicating that only about one in 10,000 wild oysters is likely to produce a pearl. Pearls are formed as a response to an irritant entering the oyster's shell, which is usually something like a grain of sand. In protective retaliation, the oyster secretes layers of nacre over the irritant, gradually forming the pearl. This process can take between two to three years for pearls to develop, resulting in a small 3 to 5-mm pearl.
