Henry Ford Health begins $2.2 billion expansion in Detroit

Henry Ford Health has initiated a $2.2 billion expansion project in Detroit, marking a historic investment in the city's healthcare infrastructure. Dubbed 'Destination Grand,' the expansion will encompass over 1.2 million square feet, featuring a new state-of-the-art hospital facility and a 20-story patient tower dedicated to intensive inpatient rehabilitation in collaboration with the Shirly Ryan AbilityLab. The expansion will also see the emergency room's size doubled to 75,000 square feet, enhancing the hospital's capacity to serve the community. Operating rooms will be equipped to handle a wide range of complex surgical procedures, including transplants and brain surgeries.
