- Cooper securing a lucrative deal with SiriusXM marks a new chapter for her podcast.
Alex Cooper, the host of the hit podcast “Call Her Daddy,” has officially parted ways with Spotify, signing a lucrative multi-year agreement with SiriusXM. The deal, reportedly worth $125 million over three years, grants SiriusXM exclusive advertising and distribution rights, along with access to additional content and events. This new partnership is set to bring exclusive content to SiriusXM starting next year, marking a significant shift in Cooper's podcasting journey. Under the terms of the agreement, SiriusXM also gains exclusive global ad sales rights to Cooper’s Unwell Network, which features popular podcasts such as “Hot Mess with Alix Earle” and “Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey.” “Call Her Daddy,” which was Spotify’s second-most popular podcast in 2023, follows a trend of high-profile podcasts leaving the platform for SiriusXM, as the latter intensifies its focus on podcasting. SiriusXM's president, Scott Greenstein, emphasized the company's commitment to podcasting, contrasting it with Spotify's recent struggles, including significant staff cuts due to over $1 billion in podcasting expenditures that did not yield expected results. Cooper, who previously signed a $60 million deal with Spotify in 2021 after leaving Barstool Sports, reassured her audience, known as the "Daddy Gang," that they remain her top priority. Despite the shift, “Call Her Daddy” and the Unwell Network will continue to be available on Spotify, where the majority of Cooper's listeners still reside. Details regarding the deal's terms were not disclosed by SiriusXM in their press release.
