Labourer humiliated after wedding venue doesn't exist and bride disappears

After waiting for someone to escort them to the supposed venue and receiving no assistance, they began searching for it themselves. Local residents also had no knowledge of it, confirming the venue was fictitious. This left Deepak and his family confused, embarrassed, and stranded in a town where they had intended to celebrate a joyful occasion. Despite numerous attempts to contact Manpreet and her family, Deepak found that her phone was switched off, adding to his distress. The planning for this wedding had involved significant financial costs, including payments for transportation, catering, and even hiring a videographer. The incident prompted Deepak to file a police complaint detailing the situation and the financial losses he suffered. Assistant Sub-Inspector Harjinder Singh confirmed that the police had begun investigating the case, while Deepak grappled with the emotional fallout from being conned. This unforeseen event not only ruined his wedding dreams but also highlighted the dangers of online relationships and potential scammers preying on hopeful individuals who seek love on social media platforms.
