Rachel Reeves supports Angela Rayner amid Labour freebies controversy

The MHCLG clarified that many government departments utilize official photographers to communicate their activities to the public, and Rayner was not involved in the hiring process. In addition to addressing the photographer issue, Reeves defended Labour against broader allegations of sleaze and cronyism, which have surfaced due to ministers accepting various gifts and freebies. Reeves stated that as long as gifts are properly declared, attending events like football matches or concerts is acceptable.
