The College of Europe has officially inaugurated its campus in Tirana, Albania, welcoming 32 students from 21 different European countries for the academic year 2024-25. The inauguration ceremony took place at the 'Liria' building, located near the Student City in Tirana, and was attended by notable figures including the EU ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, the Rector of the College of Europe, Federica Mogherini, and the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu. The Municipality of Tirana has played a significant role in facilitating this initiative by ensuring favorable conditions for the students and providing three scholarships for outstanding Albanian youth. This effort reflects a commitment to fostering educational opportunities and enhancing the academic landscape in Albania. Silvio Gonzato emphasized the importance of this diverse cohort, stating that their presence will contribute to building essential connections for a more united Europe.
