Nketiah Set for Marseille Loan from Arsenal

Eddie Nketiah's potential move to Marseille is contingent on the French club's decision, following the establishment of personal terms on a five-year contract. The Athletic previously reported that Marseille's new head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, is keen on securing the 25-year-old forward, who is eager to join the Ligue 1 side. Marseille had submitted an improved bid of nearly €20 million (£16.8 million) in July, aligning more closely with Arsenal's valuation for the player. Nketiah, who signed a five-year deal with Arsenal in June 2022, has found his playing time limited due to the arrivals of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, who have taken precedence as the club's main strikers. Last season, he made 37 appearances for Arsenal, netting six goals, but only started 10 matches in the Premier League. His lack of consistent starting opportunities culminated in being an unused substitute for the final six league games as Arsenal contended for the title against Manchester City. Despite his limited role at Arsenal, Nketiah made his senior England debut last season, coming off the bench in a friendly against Australia. However, he remains eligible to represent Ghana, as he has yet to participate in a competitive match for England.
