Masked Man Flashed Gun at Postal Worker in Massachusetts

TEWKSBURY – A tense situation unfolded in Tewksbury on Tuesday morning when a masked man brandishing a gun threatened a postal worker in a stolen vehicle. The incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on Shawsheen Street, prompting an extensive search by local law enforcement. The postal carrier, fearing for her safety, managed to escape by quickly driving away in her USPS vehicle. Authorities, including Massachusetts State Police and a SWAT team from the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC), concentrated their efforts in the vicinity of Nightengale Lane, where the suspect was last seen. Residents expressed shock at the incident, with local resident Joyce Shirton stating, "I don't know what to think," and noting that police advised her to remain indoors and secure her home. As the search continued, Tewksbury police released a description of the suspect, emphasizing that the weapon used in the incident likely belonged to him.
