- Negotiations are ongoing as Forest aims to secure the promising forward for their team.
Nottingham Forest is reportedly nearing an agreement with Arsenal for the transfer of striker Eddie Nketiah, with discussions on personal terms also advancing. According to The Athletic, Forest's initial bid of £25 million, including add-ons, was rejected as Arsenal seeks a fee between £30-35 million. The club has identified Nketiah as a key target to enhance their attacking options for the upcoming season. The 25-year-old forward was previously set to join Marseille earlier this summer, but negotiations fell through due to a disagreement on the transfer fee. Crystal Palace has shown interest in Nketiah and has engaged in talks with Arsenal, but their discussions have not progressed to the same extent as those with Nottingham Forest. Nketiah has made 168 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 38 goals, and has one cap for the England national team. As Nottingham Forest embarks on its third consecutive season in the Premier League, the addition of Nketiah would provide valuable depth alongside current forwards Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi. The team began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth and is preparing for their next match against newly-promoted Southampton on Saturday. In addition to pursuing Nketiah, Forest has also explored a potential move for Santiago Gimenez. However, their offers have not met Feyenoord's expectations, and the Mexican international has not expressed a desire to leave his current club.
