In the first quarter of fiscal year 2025 (Q1FY25), a leading telecom company announced a total revenue of Rs 38,506 crore, reflecting a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 2.8 percent and a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) rise of 2.4 percent. The Indian segment of the business was particularly robust, generating Rs 29,046 crore, which marks a significant 10.1 percent YoY growth. The company’s consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached Rs 19,944 crore, achieving a margin of 51.8 percent. Additionally, the earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) stood at Rs 9,355 crore, with a margin of 24.3 percent. The net income before exceptional items was reported at Rs 2,925 crore, showing a modest increase of 0.8 percent YoY. Segment-wise performance also demonstrated positive trends, with the overall revenue increasing by 10.5 percent YoY. The Airtel Business segment reported an 8.3 percent YoY growth, while the Digital TV segment saw a revenue increase of 5.0 percent YoY. Moreover, the average revenue per user (ARPU) for mobile services surged to Rs 211 in Q1FY25, up from Rs 200 in the same quarter of the previous year, indicating a strengthening customer base and improved service monetization.
