Story

Reform Deputy Leader Richard Tice has been revealed to have attended a meeting with Le Cercle, a clandestine international organization comprising political elites, business figures, and intelligence operatives. Established in the 1950s, the group has maintained a low profile and has never disclosed its founders. Former Tory minister Alan Clark noted in his diaries that Le Cercle was allegedly funded by the CIA. Tice's involvement came to light through newly published Commons documents detailing MPs' income and gifts over the past year. The Register of Members' Interests also disclosed that former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak received over £47,000 in helicopter travel from Tory donors while attempting to maintain his grip on power. Additionally, rival candidate Kemi Badenoch reported receiving £10,000 in "advice and training" from strategy expert Shaya Raymond. Meanwhile, Reform leader Nigel Farage reportedly earned £1.2 million from GB News last year, alongside substantial payments from social media platforms. Tice's trip to Germany occurred on May 12, just a week before Sunak announced the general election. Originally founded to foster Franco-German reconciliation post-World War II, Le Cercle's focus shifted over the decades to opposing communism and supporting Apartheid in South Africa. Notably, former Tory MPs Rory Stewart and Nadhim Zahawi chaired the group while serving on Parliament’s foreign affairs committee, without declaring their roles. The group has a history of notable attendees, including former CIA heads Bill Casey and William Colby, as well as late MI6 officers. Reform UK has been contacted for further comment on Tice's involvement.
