The event highlighted Arsenal's strong presence, with five players, including Gabriel and his defensive partner William Saliba, making the prestigious XI. Despite narrowly missing out on the Premier League title for the second consecutive year, Arsenal outperformed Manchester City in player selections, reflecting their peers' recognition of their performances over the past season. The couple, who began dating in September 2020 and married three years later, shared a sweet exchange, with Figueiredo making a heart sign and Gabriel blowing her a kiss. They welcomed their first child, Maya, in April 2022. Figueiredo, a model and social media influencer from Rio de Janeiro, also runs a fashion and makeup brand. The PFA Team of the Year also featured David Raya, who secured the goalkeeper position after a successful debut season, displacing Aaron Ramsdale. Alongside Saliba and Magalhaes, Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice were recognized in midfield, with Odegaard making a repeat appearance and Rice earning his spot following a high-profile transfer from West Ham.
