Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is exploring the implementation of mechanised parking for two-wheelers as a solution to the increasing traffic congestion in its bustling markets. Currently in the preliminary stages, the initiative will proceed once suitable parking locations are identified. A crucial meeting with the Market Association officials is scheduled for August 17 at the Collector's office to discuss the framework and logistics of the proposed parking system. In addition to the parking plans, the city is also considering adjustments to its long-distance bus operations. The AICTSL is set to reroute buses from outside the city to mitigate congestion, with initial services planned to commence from the Naita Mundla bus stand. Buses traveling to Maharashtra will be the first to operate from the Naita Mundla ISBT, aiming to streamline transit and reduce traffic within the city. During a recent meeting at the Collectorate, Collector Asheesh Singh emphasized the importance of developing a comprehensive plan for the long-distance bus operations. He urged officials to prioritize the resolution of public grievances and ensure timely responses to applications related to these issues. The meeting included key figures such as Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shivam Verma and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Siddharth Jain, highlighting a collaborative approach to addressing the city's transportation challenges. As Indore continues to grow, these initiatives reflect a proactive stance towards improving urban mobility and enhancing the overall experience for residents and visitors alike.
