In France, today marked a significant event in aviation as Avolon delivered the first of 20 Airbus A330neo aircraft to Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG). This transaction signals a major step in MAG's fleet renewal and expansion strategy and will see the remaining aircraft delivered by 2028. The agreement involves 10 aircraft sourced from Avolon's orderbook and another 10 acquired through a sale and leaseback agreement with MAG, initially announced in August 2022. The A330neo outperforms the previous A330ceo model with an increased range of over 13,300 kilometers and 25% lower fuel consumption. This enhanced efficiency is a pivotal reason for its adoption by MAG as they aim to modernize their fleet. The A330neo offers improved per seat economics, making it a formidable option for airlines looking to grow their market presence. MAG, which currently operates a diverse fleet of 74 aircraft, is the 20th airline to operate this model, reinforcing its commitment to providing high-quality service to its customers. The aircraft features a premium two-class layout, with 297 seats, improving passenger comfort through more space, enhanced storage, and state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi services. As the Asian aviation market continues its recovery, the new aircraft are expected to strengthen MAG's position in the industry significantly. Avolon, a leading global aviation finance company founded in 2010, has nurtured deep relationships with both Airbus and Rolls-Royce, fostering collaboration that has resulted in this successful delivery. Furthermore, Avolon is a pioneer in the A330neo market, having been a launch customer in 2014, with a portfolio that includes multiple aircraft models and a committed fleet for future deliveries. The combined expertise of Avolon, Rolls-Royce, and Airbus exemplifies a successful partnership that has addressed the pressing needs of MAG's evolving fleet requirements.
