In Kolkata, protesting doctors are planning to take to the streets again ahead of the Durga Puja festival. During a mass convention at SSKM hospital, Dr. Debashish Haldar emphasized that their protests are ongoing, despite claims that they have diminished. The doctors have scheduled a demonstration on September 29 across various localities and a larger rally on October 2, coinciding with Mahalaya, at the Esplanade area. They are urging public participation in these events. Recently, the doctors sent a reminder to Chief Secretary Manoj Pant regarding the implementation of their previously approved demands. The protests were initially sparked by calls for justice, and there has been criticism from political figures, such as BJP leader Dilip Ghosh, questioning the doctors' decision to temporarily halt their protests. In response, Dr. Aniket Mahata clarified that they did not completely cease their protests but rather joined emergency services, indicating a readiness to resume their demonstrations if necessary.
