Story

In Copenhagen, a new rooftop venue combines agriculture and leisure, featuring a farm alongside a bar. This innovative space aims to provide visitors with a unique experience that connects them to nature while enjoying refreshments. The initiative reflects a growing trend in urban environments, where sustainability and community engagement are prioritized. April Gargiulo, founder of the San Francisco-based beauty brand Vintner’s Daughter, has ventured into the world of fragrance with her new perfume, Understory. Collaborating with Northern California perfumer Loreto Remsing, Gargiulo sought to capture the essence of a “magical liminal world between earth and sky, under the redwoods.” Released in 2022, Understory features notes of violet, jasmine, and moss, embodying the natural beauty of its inspiration. Additionally, the venue offers seasonal focaccia made with greenhouse tomatoes, enhancing the farm-to-table experience. Brooklyn-based artist Derrick Adams draws inspiration from beauty supply stores, particularly those catering to Black women, for his latest exhibition titled “Derrick Adams: The Strip.” Currently showcased at the Amorepacific Headquarters in Seoul, the exhibition features a series of paintings that celebrate beauty shop mannequins. Adams emphasizes the importance of reflecting on aspects of Black culture that often go unrecognized, using his art to elevate these experiences into a broader conversation about identity and creativity. T Magazine continues to highlight cultural events and products, including the rooftop venue, Gargiulo’s fragrance, and Adams’ exhibition, showcasing a blend of art, beauty, and sustainability that resonates with contemporary audiences.
