Body Recovered from Sunken Yacht in Sicily

Prosecutors in Italy are pursuing potential manslaughter charges in connection with the sinking of the superyacht Bayesian, which resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah. The Italian coastguard confirmed the recovery of Hannah's body on Friday, marking the end of a four-day search for the last missing person from the luxury vessel. The public prosecutor of Termini Imerese is investigating charges related to shipwreck, disaster, and multiple homicides, with a press conference scheduled for Saturday. The yacht capsized early Monday morning during a storm, shortly after Lynch celebrated his acquittal on fraud charges in the U.S. Investigators believe the vessel sank bow-first before rolling onto its side. Reports indicate that victims were found outside their cabins, suggesting they attempted to escape as water flooded the yacht. Five of the deceased were located in different areas than those indicated by survivors, raising questions about the circumstances of the tragedy. Among the victims were prominent figures, including Jonathan Bloomer, chair of Morgan Stanley International, and his wife, Judy, as well as Lynch's lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife, Neda. The yacht's chef, Recaldo Thomas, also perished in the incident. Loved ones have expressed their grief, describing Hannah as a "warm and beautiful soul," while thanking the Italian coastguard and emergency services for their efforts during the rescue operation.
