Rakesh Singhai appointed Vice Chancellor of DAVV University in Indore

Prof Rakesh Singhai has been appointed as the new vice chancellor of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, following the completion of Renu Jain's tenure. Singhai, who has an extensive academic background including a Bachelor of Engineering from a local college and advanced degrees from IIT Delhi, previously served as the founding director of Shivpuri Institute of Technology. His appointment was announced by the Chancellor of state universities, Maghubai Patel, marking the beginning of a four-year term. Singhai expressed enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing the university's academic reputation. He aims to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to elevate DAVV's standing in higher education. One of his primary objectives is to secure Grade A++ accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which he plans to achieve by forming a task force to identify and address any shortcomings. Renu Jain, who served as the first female vice chancellor of DAVV, completed a significant 21-year legacy, being the first to finish a full term in two decades. Her leadership was marked by a transitional period under the university's Section 52 mandate, and she will remain in her position until Singhai officially assumes charge. With Singhai's leadership, there is optimism for a new era of growth and academic excellence at DAVV, as he aims to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and further enhance the university's reputation in the region.
