Man jailed for filming rape of unconscious woman in Northamptonshire

Edison Northover, a 25-year-old man from Corby, Northamptonshire, was sentenced to over eight years in prison after being found guilty of raping an unconscious woman. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 18, when Northover filmed the assault without the victim's knowledge. The woman only became aware of the crime when her younger sibling showed her the video, prompting her to report the matter to the police. Following his arrest, Northover attempted to influence the victim by contacting her and trying to dissuade her from supporting the prosecution. This led to an additional charge of perverting the course of justice. During the trial at Northampton Crown Court in July, the evidence presented resulted in a conviction for both rape and the subsequent charge.
