Spring Training Schedule for 2025 Announced

NEW YORK (AP) — Major League Baseball has unveiled the 2025 spring training schedule, set to commence on February 20. The Los Angeles Dodgers will kick off the Cactus League by hosting the Chicago Cubs in Glendale, Arizona. The Grapefruit League will begin the following day, with the New York Yankees facing the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa, Florida. Notably, all 30 teams are slated to play on February 22, marking a significant start to the preseason. The Spring Breakout event, which showcases top prospects, will return from March 13-16. This year, 93 players from the breakout games have made their way to the major leagues, highlighting the event's importance in player development. The crossover game between Atlanta and the Chicago Cubs is scheduled for March 24 and 25 in Mesa, Arizona, while the Colorado Rockies will take on the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers, Florida, on March 25. Additionally, scheduled exhibitions at regular-season ballparks will take place from March 23-25, featuring matchups such as Cleveland at Arizona and Kansas City at Texas, with more games expected to be added. The Houston Astros will also host Triple-A Sugar Land at Minute Maid Park during this period, providing fans with a glimpse of both major and minor league talent. The official start of the regular season is set for March 18, when the Dodgers face the Cubs in Tokyo, followed by other teams opening their seasons on March 27.
