University says it is complying with the state's regulations to comply with state's board of governors. The institution has closed the office of its chief diversity officer.

Florida board bans use of state and federal funds on DEI programs at state universities. Board of Governors voted Wednesday to ban state spending on diversity, equity and inclusion programs. DEI spending is the latest move taking aim at higher education DEI in the United States. Florida is the only state university board to vote against DEI funding.

Florida also stops funding for programs within state colleges and teaching American history in schools. DEI is required to be part of the state's college system, not part of state colleges.

Oklahoma GOP Gov. Kevin Stitt has signed an executive order defunding diversity, equity and inclusion offices and programs in state agencies, including public colleges. DeI offices are defunded in Oklahoma, including those in the state's public colleges, he says. Stitt: "Diversity, equity, inclusion offices" are defunding state agencies.

Oklahoma schools chief to announce plan to ban DEI in Sooner State's public schools. Superintendent Ryan Walters' proposal would ban diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
