Florida State University was left out of the College Football Playoff despite an undefeated 13-0 record. Florida State won 13-1 in the first two games of the season. Georgia defeated the school to become the first team to reach the four-time winner in the history of college football.

Florida State finished the regular season undefeated and won the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. But despite going 13-0, the Seminoles are missing the College Football Playoff. The snub left Florida State's quarterback Brock Glenn furious that he was not considered a national champion. Florida State won the league championship game and won a national championship.
