Philanthropic group gifts United Negro College Fund $100 million grant to help boost HBCU endowments. Lilly Endowment Inc. gave the grant to support a capital campaign that was created in part to boost endowmentments for historically Black colleges and universities. The fund was created to help fund endowment endowments for historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Three historically Black colleges and universities will receive Project School Emergency Response to Violence grants after they were the targets of bomb threats last year.
