Madrid held onto to a first leg advantage despite a poor performance from Dortmund. Dortmund will face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals on Tuesday night.

Atletico Madrid beat Villarreal 2-1 away from home in Spanish league. Saúl Ñíguez came off the bench in the 84th minute to score a late winner for Atletico. Atletico won 2-0 at the Estadio del Bosque in their La Liga clash.

Atlético Madrid beat Inter Milan in dramatic penalty shootout to snatch last Champions League quarterfinals spot. Last season’s runner-up Inter Milan claimed the last spot in the last eight. Inter Milan won 2-1 on penalties after a penalty shootout on Wednesday night.
