The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act comes into force in Scotland on 1 April. The hate crime and public order act will take effect from 1 April this year. It is the first time hate crime legislation has been introduced in Scotland since 2010. The bill was passed by the Scottish Parliament in March 2013.
