The final vote on short term rentals took place in Plano

Stricter rules likely to take effect by the end of April. Existing STRs will be grandfathered into the new rules, but new rentals cannot open in single-family neighborhoods. New STRs can't be opened in single family neighborhoods, city officials say.

Plano city leaders presented two proposed ordinances Monday night. One would require property owners to register with the city. The second would add amendments to the city's zoning ordinance. A one-year ban on new short-term rentals expires this May.
