MLS and referees reached a 7-year labor deal, ending the month-long referee lockout
Officials will return to games this weekend after reaching an agreement on a new CBA that will run through the 2030 season. Officials will be back in action this weekend following the end of a month-long lockout. The CBA will run for the next 10 years, with officials set to return to work this weekend.
New CBA will run until January 2031. In the past, referees with less than two years of league experience made $50k in base pay. Starting this year, that salary will dramatically increase. More refs' with more mileage will earn more than $50K.
Major League Soccer and its referee announced a seven-year labor contract. The deal ends a 37-day lockout that led to the use of replacement officials. MLS teams have been using replacement officials in the last 37 days of the lockout. The league announced the deal on Thursday.
