The lawsuit was filed against PIAA over the competitive balance rule

Earlier this year, Aliquippa was told they would be bumped up to Class 5A. The PIAA has filed a lawsuit against the state over competitive balance rule. The lawsuit is expected to last for more than a year. The state was told earlier this year that they would need to be bumped to Class 4A.

Aliquippa School District is suing the PIAA for moving it up a class from 4A to 5A. The district says the move is dangerous and unfair. District says move is unsafe and unfair and says it is dangerous. PIAa says it will continue to work with the district.
