Beloved ex-Islanders coach Barry Trotz makes UBS Arena return as Predators GM

Barry Trotz switched from NHL coach to GM in first season as Nashville Predators GM. Trotz never put a label on whether he was rebuilding, retooling or simply trying to reset the team. Nashville Predators are back in the playoffs for the first time since Trotz took over as NHL coach.

Barry Trotz was fired by Lou Lamoriello after a disappointing 2021-22 campaign. Trotz later hired as general manager of the Predators. This match against the Islanders marked his first time returning to the UBS Arena since he was fired from the Islanders. The Predators beat the Islanders 4-2 in the final game of the season.
