Large-scale proactive power safety shut-offs were a first for Xcel Energy in Colorado. Xcel said power was coming back on Monday to 155,000 plus customers who lost power in the weekend's vicious windstorm. Power is coming back to those who lost electricity in the storm.

Xcel Energy is set to start cutting power in its lines around 3 p.m. Saturday and continue through Sunday. An estimated 55,000 customers may be impacted in Boulder County, small sections of Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Douglas and Broomfield Counties, and West Denver Metro area along foothills.
