The final sections of Ryan Field are demolished in Evanston

The new Ryan Field is part of a $480 million donation from the family of Patrick and Shirley Ryan that was the largest in school history. The new field was built in 1998 and will be used to host Northwestern University football games. The $480m donation was made from the Ryan family.

Evanston didn't approve a video board and stated all improvements must comply with zoning and building requirements. The city also said improvements must be compliant with zoning, building regulations. Evanston also said it didn't want a video-board or a video camera installed at the field.
