Portland residents were left resentful as they were denied the same services as asylum seekers

Free bus service laid on daily to transport around 500 migrants from Bibby Stockholm in and out of Portland Port in Dorset. Residents have fumed about the free bus service which is only for asylum seekers. Around 500 migrants use the service every day to get to Portland Port, Dorset, in and around the city.

Portland residents denied same services as asylum seekers: 'How can we move forward!' The first asylum seekers were moved onto the barge in August 2023. First asylum seekers to be moved onto barge will be moved on in 2023, with the first being moved in August 2018.
