Is it wrong for our village to boycott the local pub

Our village is boycotting the local pub – is it wrong to take a job there? I want to show solidarity, but it’s a long bus ride to the town where I’d otherwise have to seek work. I want a job at the pub but it's a long, long bus journey to the other town where it would be difficult to find work.
