Workers at the Alstom train plant are facing uncertainty

Alstom train plant in Derby faces uncertainty over future of Elizabeth line order. Staff say they are taking nothing for granted but are taking 'nothing for granted' as they face uncertain future. Staff are 'by no means out of the woods yet' and say they will not be able to predict future of train plant.

Alstom says it is in "intense" talks with the government and Transport for London. The train firm is in talks with TfL about new orders for the struggling train firm. The firm says it has been in talks for more than a quarter of a decade with the UK government.
