Senate passes a bill forcing TikTok to face a ban if its owner, ByteDance, doesn't sell it within a year. The bill included with the foreign aid package, which will ban TikTok if it doesn't get a year's notice from its owner.

Law would force ByteDance to divest from TikTok and sever its ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Law would also force the company to sever ties with TikTok or cease its U.S. operations. Lawmakers say it's time is running out for the law to pass.
