Joey Rodriguez Junior High School is set to open next year. Soccer coach Joey Rodriguez lost his battle to COVID-19 in 2021. The school will be dedicated to Rodriguez's legacy in honor of the coach. Rodriguez was a soccer coach who died from COVID 19.

Joey Rodriguez Junior High is set to open next year. Rodriguez died in 2021 from COVID-19. He was a soccer coach at Sam Houston High and coached at Arlington High. The district approved naming a new middle school after him. The school will open in 2021.
