There are signs that Gleyber Torres could join the Yankees surge
DJ LeMahieu readied himself for a trip to Reading, Penn. The Yankees begin their series-opener against the Athletics on Monday night. DJ LeMieu is expected to be back in the Yankees' first game of the series against the A.C. Rockies.
Gleyber Torres was out of the starting lineup Saturday for the first time in 21 games. Torres has not started in the last 21 games of the season. He has been a major factor in the Yankees' win over the past two weeks. Torres is expected to return to the starting line-up for the final time in 2024.
Gleyber Torres is batting.208 with a.554 OPS, zero home runs, 10 walks and 20 strikeouts. A year ago, Torres was the Yankees’ most consistent hitter over the course of the full season. That said, he did have stretches somewhat like the one he currently finds himself in.
