The Wakehurst Botanic Gardens has an ambassador in the form of Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett is unveiled as Wakehurst Botanic Gardens' ambassador. The 54-year-old actress is the Kew Garden Wakehurst's first-ever ambassador. She is also the UK's first ever ambassador to Wakehurst. The actress, 54, has swapped the red carpet for the green belt as she takes on the role.

Cate Blanchett has become Wakehurst nature reserve ambassador. The Oscar-winning actress enjoys walking at the gardens in Wakehurst, near Haywards Heath. The actress has been a member of the reserve for more than a decade. She has also been a visitor to the reserve at the time of her retirement.
