Brazil is trying to increase gas supply with Petrobras

Petrobras’ shift away from oil-field divestment is motivating a pivot by Brazil’s junior drillers to corporate acquisitions. The independent Brazilian crude producers that grew the most from buying Pet are the ones that grew most from the Petrobras deal.

Brazil’s oil giant Petrobras should increase its efforts to boost natural gas supplies and lower prices to help revive the nation’s industry, said mines and energy minister Alexandre Silveira.
